Dr. Yue Zhuge has served as our independent director since December 2024. She has been a partner at NGP Capital since June 2023 and the founding partner of QuarkStar since January 2022. Prior to that, Dr. Zhuge was General Manager and VP of R&D at Hulu Beijing from May 2015 to May 2021, where her team developed key technologies in machine learning, AI, video technology, and data science. She previously held technical management positions at Yahoo! and Microsoft.
From 2006 to 2019, Dr.Zhuge served as the co-owner and senior director of Nuolida Education Co., Ltd., overseeing the management and operations of Beijing Lido Gymboree, a franchisee of Gymboree Play & Music. During this period, she oversaw teams providing bilingual early childhood and family education programs to thousands of children and was deeply involved in the overall operations of the educational institution, encompassing team recruitment and training, curriculum coordination, client relationship management, and comprehensive management of operating revenue and daily operations. Additionally, she also served as a member of the Board of Trustees at Dulwich College Beijing and as a mentor for Schwarzman Scholars.
Dr. Zhuge earned her M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University, as well as an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from Stony Brook University. She completed her undergraduate studies at Tsinghua University.
Dr. Zhuge is the chief editor of the books The Quest for Machine Learning and The Quest for Deep Learning. She is also the author of the popular science book Computational Thinking and two parenting books My Two Boys: A Devil and an Angel and Growing Tree: A Guide for the Future of Parenting.
